London Local Elections 2026

London’s local elections will take place in May 2026. Residents will elect councillors who make decisions that shape daily life across each borough.
These decisions affect housing, transport, education, public safety, and the use of local resources. They also shape whether communities feel safe, supported, and represented.
The London Jewish Forum has produced the Guide to Jewish London for Councillors to highlight the issues raised by Jewish residents and community organisations across the city. It sets out the priorities that matter for sustaining Jewish community life at a local level.
Read the Guide to understand these priorities and how they relate to decisions made by local councils.
Candidate Engagement Tracker
The Candidate Engagement Tracker shows which candidates have publicly confirmed that they have read the Guide to Jewish London for Local Councillors and considered the issues it raises.
The Tracker helps residents see which candidates have taken the time to engage with the Guide and support informed conversations during the election period. Click on the name of a borough to view the list of candidates who have engaged with the Guide.
The purpose is transparency rather than endorsement, and to support continued dialogue once councils are formed.
